The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th minute, Oséias Mota got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Miracema AD's Valdir Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otávio Mineiro in the 12th minute of play. If Wanderson Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Paulo Palmeira struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Valdir Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aguacuzinho. When Wanderson Loyola came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Aguacuzinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wanderson Loyola couldn't finish the play. In the 20th minute Otávio Mineiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Otávio Mineiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Valdir Saldanha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Valdir Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otávio Mineiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Erivaldo Santana took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Artur Mangueira. Artur Mangueira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Edinho Arce kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Chiquinho Cabral sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Aguacuzinho's Artur Mangueira didn't even have to move. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Wanderson Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aguacuzinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Wanderson Loyola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdir Saldanha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valdir Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wanderson Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Otávio Mineiro struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Valdir Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aguacuzinho. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erivaldo Santana to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erivaldo Santana in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Artur Mangueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Artur Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erivaldo Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Otávio Mineiro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Valdir Saldanha when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Erivaldo Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Miracema AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Erivaldo Santana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artur Mangueira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Miracema AD's Valdir Saldanha got control of the ball when Otávio Mineiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Válter Linares hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Aguacuzinho's zone, Erivaldo Santana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artur Mangueira came out of the goal and Erivaldo Santana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Erivaldo Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wágner Palmeira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Artur Mangueira. Aguacuzinho's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edinho Arce in the 97th minute of play forced Miracema AD's goalkeeper Valdir Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
