But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aluísio Gonçalves couldn't finish the play. Agostinho Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aluísio Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Novaes to make the kick off. Agostinho Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Novaes in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Cafu Matorin had to leave the field with a concussion. The supporters of Zamaicare FC booed when Costao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertino Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Costao defense, Luiz Fernando Gaspar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arí Madureira. The Costao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arí Madureira should have stopped the shot. When Gerson Mendonça fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costao's protests and gave Gerson Mendonça a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st minute, Gerson Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 82 minutes, Benê Netto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zamaicare FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benê Netto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Zamaicare FC's Luiz Fernando Gaspar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arí Madureira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aluísio Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Agostinho Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Zamaicare FC's Agostinho Ferraz got control of the ball when Aluísio Gonçalves tried to sneak it across the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Costao players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Zamaicare FC.
