In the 10th match minute, Paranauna AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodriguinho Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute of the match César Leme sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nilton Paraibano skillfully saved the ball. After 12 played minutes Paranauna AD got a freekick which was hit by Rodriguinho Mendonça. Nando Prado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gildo Pitta having to make a save. Nilton Paraibano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Queiroz in the 17th minute of play. When Rodriguinho Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Paranauna AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodriguinho Mendonça couldn't finish the play. Paranauna AD's Nilton Paraibano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Queiroz in the 24th minute of play. Carlos Alberto Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Nando Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paranauna AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Nando Prado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gildo Pitta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Queiroz in the 35th minute of play forced Paranauna AD's goalkeeper Nilton Paraibano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Peroba's Carlos Alberto Queiroz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nilton Paraibano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nilson Zilles was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Acácio Castro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Peroba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paranauna AD the free kick. A collision led to Peroba getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Acácio Castro hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nilson Zilles in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gildo Pitta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 66 minutes, William Schmidt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peroba and the Paranauna AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. William Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilson Zilles in the 69th minute of play forced Peroba's goalkeeper Gildo Pitta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nilson Zilles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paranauna AD's Nando Prado got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Peroba players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
