After a rather tough play, Cerveja's Márcio Brito got a free kick in the 14th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Peroba's César Leme broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Téo Simão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Francisco Prestes made a huge save. If Gilvan Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the game, Virgílio Fantini was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cerveja's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Peroba the free kick. Virgílio Fantini hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Elói Paraíba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Francisco Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Téo Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the match, Cerveja's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Alberto Queiroz came free, but Francisco Prestes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gilvan Sarmento came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Cerveja fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilvan Sarmento couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Cerveja's Francisco Prestes got control of the ball when Téo Simão tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 39th match minute, Peroba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cauã Porto to maneuver through the defense. 40 minutes into the game, Roberto Guerra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cerveja's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Peroba the free kick. Carlos Alberto Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Prestes having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Gilvan Sarmento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roberto Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Gildo Pitta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Roberto Guerra made the kick off in the second half. Carlos Alberto Queiroz might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Francisco Prestes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Alberto Queiroz ran back to his position shaking his head. Téo Simão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Francisco Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Téo Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Gildo Pitta was a little too slow when Roberto Guerra got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 1-1. Roberto Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gildo Pitta having to interfere. Severino Tavares struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Francisco Prestes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peroba. Thanks to some nice moves Gilvan Sarmento could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Gildo Pitta however easily saved by the left post. Gildo Pitta was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gilvan Sarmento showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 80 minute of play. Téo Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Cerveja's Márcio Brito got a free kick in the 85th minute. Téo Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cerveja had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
