In the 41st minute, Renan Quaresma left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Minhas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Potenji AD's Oswaldo Antunes got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cássio Sabóia was the one to do the kick off. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 60 minutes into the game, Potenji AD's Oswaldo Antunes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Virgílio Rocha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Raimundo Moreira kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Wilton Palmeira made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Renan Quaresma sent off a good shot on target. In the 75th minute Oswaldo Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgílio Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, José Maria Antunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Minhas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Potenji AD the free kick. After a rather tough play, Minhas's José Maria Antunes got a free kick in the 76th minute.
