Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Botucudo's Sandrinho Melo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vitório Nunes made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Kiko Garcia sent off a good shot on target. 9 minutes into the match, Panacuhy SC's goal looked a bit too open when Sandrinho Melo came free, but Vitório Nunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Sandrinho Barral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Paulo de Souza was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. When Natanael Fantini fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Botucudo's protests and gave Natanael Fantini a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Panacuhy SC's zone, Sandrinho Melo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vitório Nunes came out of the goal and Sandrinho Melo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Kiko Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Paulo de Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerônimo de Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 24 minutes, Jerônimo de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panacuhy SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerônimo de Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 32nd minute Sandrinho Barral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Paulo de Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Jerônimo de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panacuhy SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerônimo de Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Paulo de Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Paulo de Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerônimo de Lara in the 36th minute of play. Kiko Garcia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Vitório Nunes made a huge save. 47 minutes into the game, Leonardo Tepedino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Botucudo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panacuhy SC the free kick. A collision led to Botucudo getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Leonardo Tepedino hit a great ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jerônimo de Lara to strike the kick off in the second half. José Paulo de Souza was a little too slow when Sandrinho Barral got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 0-1. Panacuhy SC's Vitório Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandrinho Melo in the 66th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kiko Garcia in the 75th minute of play forced Panacuhy SC's goalkeeper Vitório Nunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Botucudo's goal looked a bit too open when Jerônimo de Lara came free, but José Paulo de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute, Sandrinho Melo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Botucudo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Sandrinho Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thiago Alcântara hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. If Kiko Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
