In the 3rd minute, Donato Campidelis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 5 minutes, Laerte Senna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Apucaraninha SS and the Bate players grew even worse after the yellow card. Laerte Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. A collision led to Apucaraninha SS getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Laerte Senna hit a great ball. Sidney de Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Nóbrega, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sidney de Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Campidelis in the 17th minute of play. Donato Campidelis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Bate's Sidney de Senna got control of the ball when Donato Campidelis tried to sneak it across the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Apucaraninha SS's Ivo Nóbrega sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sidney de Senna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Bate getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Arlindo Pinho hit a great ball. Donato Campideliss short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Sidney de Senna to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Rubinho de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Doriva Tande came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Bate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Doriva Tande couldn't finish the play. Sidney de Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivo Nóbrega in the 42nd minute of play. Apucaraninha SS's Donato Campidelis suffered a sprained foot after 45 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 45 minutes, Dudu Tróia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bate and the Apucaraninha SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The goalkeeper, Sidney de Senna, was totally fooled by Apucaraninha SS's Cauã de Almeida, who 48 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Doriva Tande was the one to do the kick off. With his leg Emerson da Silveira managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Bate's Doriva Tande fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 61 minutes into the match, Bate's goal looked a bit too open when Ivo Nóbrega came free, but Sidney de Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bate's Sidney de Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivo Nóbrega in the 62nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Doriva Tande could shoot a difficult shot in the 64th minute, which Emerson da Silveira however easily saved by the left post. 67 minutes into the match, Bate's Doriva Tande sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emerson da Silveira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Emerson da Silveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doriva Tande in the 69th minute. Sidney de Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elivélton Lopez in the 72nd minute of the match. Ivo Nóbrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doriva Tande's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, Emerson da Silveira skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 78th minute of the match, Doriva Tande got a very nice opportunity to score, but Emerson da Silveira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Doriva Tande who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Emerson da Silveira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bate's Doriva Tande got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcel Alcântara hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Sidney de Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivo Nóbrega in the 88th minute of play. When Rubinho de Barros fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bate's protests and gave Rubinho de Barros a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Bate getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Rubinho de Barros hit a great ball. After 94 played minutes Apucaraninha SS got a freekick which was hit by Laerte Senna. Ivo Nóbrega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Sidney de Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arlindo Pinho's late challenge caught a Apucaraninha SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arlindo Pinho helped the player get up and apologised. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
