The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jeremias Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Jeremias Borges came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Salina SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremias Borges couldn't finish the play. Jeremias Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Ceresso having to interfere. Zé Roberto Lucas's late challenge caught a Salina SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Roberto Lucas helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Mirasselvas getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Zé Roberto Lucas hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the game, Acácio Cearense lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Dedé Carneiro. Dedé Carneiro made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Cícero Simão sent off a good shot on target. Rafael Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Cícero Ceresso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 25 played minutes Mirasselvas got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Castro. If Jeremias Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Acácio Cearense in the 32nd minute of play forced Salina SC's goalkeeper Dedé Carneiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute Acácio Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dedé Carneiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Mirasselvas's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremias Borges came free, but Cícero Ceresso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cícero Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. 44 minutes into the game, Cícero Simão recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dedé Carneiro. Cícero Simão showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1.

The wind increased when Acácio Cearense made the kick off in the second half. Cícero Simão took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dedé Carneiro. Dedé Carneiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Dedé Carneiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cícero Simão went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Salina SC booed when Mirasselvas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Acácio Cearense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dedé Carneiro having to make a save. In the 78th minute, Cícero Simão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Mirasselvas's Cícero Ceresso got control of the ball when Jeremias Borges tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremias Borges during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jeremias Borges kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. In the 97th minute Rafael Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cícero Ceresso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Salina SC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
