After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Simão Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pitimbu SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Simão Alves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugo Prestes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpected shot in the 9th minute by Valdomiro Maia got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 9 played minutes Pitimbu SC got a freekick which was hit by Tales Tróia. The audience was convinced that Valdomiro Maia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgar Coutinho was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Havai's Chicão Donato got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 16th match minute, Havai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jano Moreira to maneuver through the defense. Pitimbu SC's Edgar Coutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdomiro Maia in the 20th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sandro Abreu during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Havai getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Sandro Abreu hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the match, Havai's goal looked a bit too open when Hortêncio Meirelles came free, but Hugo Prestes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 34 minutes of play Pitimbu SC's Tales Tróia was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Havai booed when Pitimbu SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tales Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40thth minute of the game Valdomiro Maia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pitimbu SC's Edgar Coutinho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 43rd minute, Valdomiro Maia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valdomiro Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Edgar Coutinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Hortêncio Meirelles made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Alves in the 53rd minute of play forced Havai's goalkeeper Hugo Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Valdomiro Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Havai's Valdomiro Maia in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pitimbu SC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 64th minute, Simão Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivo Rosa was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 65th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Valdo Pereira charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdo Pereira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 68 played minutes Pitimbu SC got a freekick which was hit by Valdo Pereira. Deivid Pires recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valdomiro Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jano Moreira's late challenge caught a Pitimbu SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jano Moreira helped the player get up and apologised. Jano Moreira kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the game, Hortêncio Meirelles lined in a short shot 0-1 behind a frustrated Hugo Prestes. In the 88th minute Hortêncio Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute Valdomiro Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Coutinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
