Sertanejo SS's Cícero da Mata proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Sertanejo SS from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Sertanejo SS's Ronaldinho Santos got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 13th minute Wágner Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wágner Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute, Dráusio Gonçalves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 17th minute, Jeriba's Anselmo Mendes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 21st match minute, Jeriba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dida Moreira to maneuver through the defense. Sertanejo SS's Wágner Moreira got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 30th minute Anselmo Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cícero da Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Charles Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wágner Moreira in the 32nd minute of play. If Wágner Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Jeriba getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Fred Toledo hit a great ball. Wágner Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Charles Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeriba's Charles Branco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wágner Moreira in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Serginho de Andrade was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd play minute Ronaldinho Santos came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Charles Branco. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serginho de Andrade in the 58th minute of play forced Jeriba's goalkeeper Charles Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sertanejo SS's Cícero da Mata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dráusio Gonçalves in the 60th minute of play. If Anselmo Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute Serginho de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Jeriba's zone, Wágner Moreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charles Branco came out of the goal and Wágner Moreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Serginho de Andrade struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Charles Branco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sertanejo SS. With a little luck, Jeriba's Charles Branco got control of the ball when Wágner Moreira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jeriba's Charles Branco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serginho de Andrade in the 79th minute of play. Serginho de Andrade blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Charles Branco having to make a save. 85 minutes into the match, Jeriba's goal looked a bit too open when Wágner Moreira came free, but Charles Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charles Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serginho de Andrade in the 86th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Sertanejo SS's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Mendes came free, but Cícero da Mata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serginho de Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Branco having to interfere. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
