Jeferson de Almeida stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Luís Hoffmann's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Arcadas FC's Jeferson de Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Luís Hoffmann in the 23rd minute of play. Jeferson de Almeida made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Clemente Rezende sent off a good shot on target. Clemente Rezende could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Jeferson de Almeida made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Arcadas FC's zone, André Luís Hoffmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeferson de Almeida came out of the goal and André Luís Hoffmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute, Elias de Sena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arcadas FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Carlos Fernando de Senna's late challenge caught a Esterao SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Fernando de Senna helped the player get up and apologised. When André Luís Hoffmann came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Esterao SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Luís Hoffmann couldn't finish the play. Jeferson de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Luís Hoffmann in the 48th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diogo Maia to make the kick off. Diogo Maia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdir do Nascimento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Arcadas FC's goalkeeper Jeferson de Almeida, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arcadas FC's Carlos Alberto Brodel got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. André Luís Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Alberto Brodel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Esterao SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Luís Hoffmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arcadas FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After having played for 92 minutes, André Luís Hoffmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esterao SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Luís Hoffmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
