Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nilton de Godoy got the match started through his kick off. Dino Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Dino Leão made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Jean Saldanha sent off a good shot on target. Adhemar Negri hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Catugi EC's Marco Loyola shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 11th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Dino Leão but with some difficulty. When Dito Ceresso came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Catugi EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dito Ceresso couldn't finish the play. Fausto Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fausto Tavares struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Dino Leão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catugi EC. Nilton de Godoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Clemente Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Moreiras's Kiko Carvalho broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Jean Saldanha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Dino Leão skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Dito Ceresso charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dito Ceresso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nilton de Godoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Clemente Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Lino Pires got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Moreiras's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Tavares came free, but Dino Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilton de Godoy in the 45th minute of play forced Catugi EC's goalkeeper Clemente Leal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Lino Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

53 minutes into the game, Alfredo de Barros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catugi EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Moreiras the free kick. In the 55th minute, Nilton de Godoy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 60 minutes into the match, Moreiras's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Tavares came free, but Dino Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clemente Leal came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Moreiras's Lino Pires. But to his dismay, Lino Pires quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 70th minute, Alfredo de Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Moreiras's Kiko Carvalho tried to score from far away in the 71st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Catugi EC's Clemente Leal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Catugi EC from getting a goal against them. In the 76th match minute, Catugi EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dito Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. After 84 played minutes Catugi EC got a freekick which was hit by Sydney Leite. If Fausto Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nilton de Godoy might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clemente Leal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nilton de Godoy ran back to his position shaking his head. Lino Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Clemente Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Catugi EC's Alfredo de Barros got a free kick in the 98th minute. The Moreiras supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Moreiras would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
