Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Edgar Peixoto got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute Edgar Peixoto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but César Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute, one of Salitre:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Salitre. In the 9th minute there was a penalty for Chapena. Luciano do Nascimento stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gilmar Vale. 0-1. Fiori Terra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilmar Vale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Edgar Peixoto might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over César Tasso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgar Peixoto ran back to his position shaking his head. 17 minutes into the match, Salitre's goal looked a bit too open when Téo Prado came free, but Gilmar Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilmar Vale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Téo Prado's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Chapena! Gilmar Vale came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Chapena's Fiori Terra. But to his dismay, Fiori Terra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Vitório Linares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but César Tasso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Chapena's Otávio Quintal got a free kick in the 38th minute. After having played for 40 minutes, Edgar Peixoto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salitre's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgar Peixoto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gilmar Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Téo Prado in the 43rd minute of play. When Chapena's Téo Prado in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Salitre's goalie prevented a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.
53 minutes into the match, Fiori Terra had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilmar Vale. Salitre's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fiori Terra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. The audience was convinced that Vitório Linares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but César Tasso was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Edgar Peixoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. César Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabiano Melo in the 67th minute of the match. César Tasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitório Linares in the 72nd minute of play. Vitório Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. César Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the game, Otávio Quintal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chapena's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salitre the free kick. The supporters of Salitre booed when Chapena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otávio Quintal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cafu Velloso made a great header on Salitre's corner, it was just that Chapena's César Tasso managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 87th minute, Luciano do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was beautiful to see Salitre's Carlos Eduardo Schmidt in action when he in the 89th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! After a rather tough play, Chapena's Luís Fábio Mazza got a free kick in the 90th minute. César Tasso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vitório Linares's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fiori Terra got free with Gilmar Vale in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Chapena players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
