Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Edgar Peixoto took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Fatima SS's zone, Vitório Linares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narciso Urbano came out of the goal and Vitório Linares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vitório Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Narciso Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vitório Linares took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Narciso Urbano. Narciso Urbano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Duarte Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fatima SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Duarte Medeiros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilmar Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Fatima SS booed when Salitre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adolfo Cunha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vitório Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Narciso Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd match minute, Salitre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabiano Melo to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Adolfo Cunha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fatima SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Gilmar Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duarte Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Narciso Urbano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vitório Linares in the 44th minute. Edgar Peixoto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Narciso Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Duarte Medeiros was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Salitre's Fabiano Melo got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Salitre's zone, Duarte Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilmar Vale came out of the goal and Duarte Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adolfo Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgar Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Urbano having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Cafu Velloso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Narciso Urbano was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 69th minute Duarte Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilmar Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilmar Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duarte Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Gilmar Vale managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Fatima SS's Adolfo Cunha fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Edgar Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Urbano having to interfere. Gilberto Oliveira was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 83 minutes into the match. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Fatima SS! After a rather tough play, Salitre's Cafu Velloso got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Salitre fans cheered their team off the field, for while Fatima SS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
