The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Jordania EC's zone, Agostinho Prestes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubens da Costa came out of the goal and Agostinho Prestes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rubens da Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Recife, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the match, Jordania EC's goal looked a bit too open when Agostinho Prestes came free, but Rubens da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th match minute, Jordania EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fiori Botelho to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilson Recife in the 11th minute of play forced Jordania EC's goalkeeper Rubens da Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 12 played minutes Jordania EC got a freekick which was hit by Fiori Botelho. Ausentes's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilson Recife was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rubens da Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 44 played minutes Ausentes got a freekick which was hit by José Carlos Dracena. If Fiori Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Oswaldo de Amorim made the kick off in the second half. When Oswaldo de Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Jordania EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oswaldo de Amorim couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Jordania EC's Benê Fernandez got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 60th minute, Jordania EC's Válter Sarmento fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Edson Neves was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. Agostinho Prestes charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Agostinho Prestes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Jordania EC booed when Ausentes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agostinho Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edson Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oswaldo de Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Wilson Recife sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the game, Ausentes's Wilson Recife nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rubens da Costa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Edson Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válter Sarmento in the 78th minute of the match. When Felipe Rossi fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ausentes's protests and gave Felipe Rossi a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ausentes's Felipe Rossi got a free kick in the 87th minute. If Válter Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute, Murilo Pereira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Ausentes defense, Oswaldo de Amorim kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edson Neves. The Ausentes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edson Neves should have stopped the shot. The Ausentes players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Jordania EC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
