After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Adriano Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Assituas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Adriano Moreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geovani Quintal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alberto Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Assituas FC's Alberto Antunes got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of Cahem SC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Assituas FC:s goal. In the 15th minute there was a penalty for Assituas FC. Luís Fabiano Lago stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Geovani Quintal. 0-1. Geovani Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Remo Braga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Remo Coutinho made a huge save. Rodolfo Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronaldão Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Antunes in the 31st minute of play forced Cahem SC's goalkeeper Geovani Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodolfo Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo Coutinho having to interfere. Alberto Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, Cahem SC's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Moreira came free, but Geovani Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Eliseu Leite fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cahem SC's protests and gave Eliseu Leite a yellow card for diving instead. Remo Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo Coutinho having to interfere. The Cahem SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Assituas FC were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rodolfo Leão made a kick off. The supporters of Cahem SC booed when Assituas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute, Remo Braga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cahem SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 66th minute, Remo Braga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Remo Coutinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. If Remo Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodolfo Leão in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Remo Coutinho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 77th minute Rodolfo Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remo Coutinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Remo Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Assituas FC's Remo Coutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Leão in the 81st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Remo Braga in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Remo Coutinho saved Assituas FC from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adriano Moreira during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rodolfo Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo Coutinho having to interfere. If Rodolfo Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Remo Coutinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Leão in the 96th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Assituas FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cahem SC.
