The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Roger Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delfim Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Delfim Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Carioca having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aleandro Marinho in the 11th minute of play forced Croata AD's goalkeeper Roger Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Delfim Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gualter de Queirós hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Roger Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delfim Correia in the 15th minute of play. In the 18th minute Silvinho Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cipriano Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Manaquery FC's goal looked a bit too open when Silvinho Mendes came free, but Cipriano Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Croata AD's Roger Carioca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aleandro Marinho in the 28th minute of play. Hélder Figueiredo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Cipriano Ferraz made a huge save. Dalmo Peixoto was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 35th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 38th minute, Delfim Correia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 43 minutes in the game, Delfim Correia dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 46th minute, José Paraibano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Silvinho Mendes to strike the kick off in the second half. Gualter de Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Roger Carioca made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Delfim Correia sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Manaquery FC's Mário Furtado got a free kick in the 61st minute. Hélder Figueiredo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cipriano Ferraz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Silvinho Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Cipriano Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 72 minutes of play, Manaquery FC's Delfim Correia made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roger Carioca was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Hélder Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Telmo Barros charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Telmo Barros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 87 minutes of play, Croata AD's Hélder Figueiredo made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cipriano Ferraz was left in no man's land by his defense there!
