The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Aírton Barral notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Iara's Iuri Marquez. Iuri Marquez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aírton Barral in the 11th minute of play forced Iara's goalkeeper Iuri Marquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juan Tepedino kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Vágner Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Loyola having to interfere. Aírton Barral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Iuri Marquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Vágner Abreu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cauan Neves might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luciano Loyola. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cauan Neves ran back to his position shaking his head. If Vágner Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel de Amorim to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Joel de Amorim reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iuri Marquez. The goal made the score 0-2. Luciano Loyola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vágner Abreu in the 57th minute of the match. Iuri Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel de Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. A hard shot 62 in the game by Aírton Barral from a close distance when the talented Iuri Marquez managed to make a qualified save. Iara's players were relieved. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Aírton Barral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iuri Marquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 69th minute, Cauan Neves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luciano Loyola was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Iuri Marquez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Aírton Barral showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 76 minute of play. Douglas de Lara hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Luciano Loyola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cauan Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute, Cauan Neves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Iara fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4.
