After a defensive mix-up in Varzeao SC's zone, Mateus Leme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilmar Travassos came out of the goal and Mateus Leme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mateus Leme struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Gilmar Travassos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Descarocador FC. When Varzeao SC's Kiko Baptista in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Dida Pontes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Jaime Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Varzeao SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Alcântara couldn't finish the play. After 32 minutes, Cafu Maia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varzeao SC and the Descarocador FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Varzeao SC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Cafu Maia hit a great ball. Descarocador FC's Dida Pontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Alcântara in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Descarocador FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Alcântara came free, but Dida Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilmar Travassos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Délio da Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After 42 played minutes Varzeao SC got a freekick which was hit by Cafu Maia. When Descarocador FC's Délio da Silveira, in the 43rd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Descarocador FC. The Descarocador FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Varzeao SC were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Délio da Silveira was the one to do the kick off. Gilmar Travassos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Délio da Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Rui Moraes charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rui Moraes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kiko Baptista got free with Dida Pontes in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 64 minutes into the match, Descarocador FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Alcântara came free, but Dida Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kiko Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Pontes having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Varzeao SC's Kiko Baptista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dida Pontes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kiko Baptista got free with Dida Pontes in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mateus Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilmar Travassos having to interfere. Dida Pontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Alcântara in the 87th minute of the match. Délio da Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the match, Descarocador FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Alcântara came free, but Dida Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adalmo de Queiroz hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Varzeao SC's Enrique de Queiroz was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dida Pontes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Descarocador FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Varzeao SC's performance. The match ended with a win for Varzeao SC.
