With a little luck, Abolicao AD's Sílvio Luiz Diniz got control of the ball when Matías Coelho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Guga Duarte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernandinho Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 14th match minute, Gref EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliézer Abraão to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Abolicao AD booed when Gref EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio de Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, Serginho Pinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sílvio Luiz Diniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dé Brito in the 24th minute of the match. Dé Brito was extremely unlucky when he, in the 26th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Dedê Pombal hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Sílvio Luiz Diniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dé Brito in the 33rd minute of the match. Matías Coelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Sílvio Luiz Diniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dé Brito in the 45th minute of play forced Abolicao AD's goalkeeper Sílvio Luiz Diniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Abolicao AD's Sílvio Luiz Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matías Coelho in the 52nd minute of play. Guga Duarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dráuzio Santos in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Abolicao AD's Gilmar Vieira got a free kick in the 56th minute. 59 minutes into the game, Inácio de Amorim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gref EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Abolicao AD the free kick. In the 59th match minute, Gref EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inácio de Amorim to maneuver through the defense. When Fernandinho Antunes came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Abolicao AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernandinho Antunes couldn't finish the play. If Dé Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dé Brito came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Gref EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dé Brito couldn't finish the play. After 75 played minutes Abolicao AD got a freekick which was hit by Gilson Antunes. In the 81stth minute of the game Dé Brito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Abolicao AD's Sílvio Luiz Diniz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Gref EC's Amadeu Pinheiro got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 86th minute Serginho Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guga Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Abolicao AD's goal looked a bit too open when Matías Coelho came free, but Sílvio Luiz Diniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Abolicao AD players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gref EC.
