The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eliézer Proença during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 10 minutes into the match, Corralinho's Marcus de Lara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Celsinho Marques narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Elias dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Capianga booed when Corralinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Corralinho's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte do Valle came free, but Dário Pirani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dário Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedê Baptista in the 45th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcus de Lara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dedê Baptista might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dário Pirani. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dedê Baptista ran back to his position shaking his head. When Capianga's Jaime Negri in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 60th minute Marcus de Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celsinho Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Capianga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Negri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 68 minutes into the match, Corralinho's goalkeeper Dário Pirani had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dedê Baptista. If Elias dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, one of Capianga:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Capianga. In the 79th minute there was a penalty for Corralinho. Eliézer Proença stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Celsinho Marques. 1-1. In the 85th minute Jaime Negri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dário Pirani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elias dos Santos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celsinho Marques read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Jaime Negri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário Pirani having to interfere. Jaime Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dário Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Negri in the 97th minute of play. In the 99th match minute, Corralinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel de Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Dedé Lopez, 100 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
