Dedê Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Naldo Rosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cléberson Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alan Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Marques having to interfere. Guaibal's Naldo Rosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Negri in the 22nd minute of play. Cléberson Nunes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celsinho Marques read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Alan Jacinto made a precise shot to the right of Celsinho Marques. Capianga's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Naldo Rosa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Celsinho Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alan Jacinto, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. When Pedro Paulo Vieira came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Guaibal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Paulo Vieira couldn't finish the play. 42 minutes into the match, Capianga's goal looked a bit too open when Alan Jacinto came free, but Celsinho Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jaime Negri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Capianga's Paulinho Bezerra got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Alberto Matorin, 53 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 59th minute Dedê Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naldo Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Negri in the 61st minute of play forced Guaibal's goalkeeper Naldo Rosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Naldo Rosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Negri in the 73rd minute of the match. Naldo Rosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Negri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Alan Jacinto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Celsinho Marques was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Naldo Rosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dedê Baptista went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Tarcisio Nunes hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After having played for 87 minutes, Dedê Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Capianga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dedê Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jaime Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Guaibal players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Capianga from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
