After a defensive mix-up in Orlandia's zone, Claudinho Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danilo Araújo came out of the goal and Claudinho Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 8th minute, Cauã de Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Orlandia's Danilo Araújo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Orlandia from getting a goal against them. Adrianinho Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yuri Félix in the 11th minute of play. Cristóvão Rosados short, quick shot in the 17thth minute got Danilo Araújo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Danilo Araújo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinho Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Claudinho Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Orlandia getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Flávio Penha hit a great ball. Yuri Félix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Danilo Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinho Barros in the 36th minute of play. In the 36th match minute, Orlandia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Guilherme Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Orlandia's goalkeeper Danilo Araújo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Cristóvão Rosado came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Gameleina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristóvão Rosado couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Faustão de Godoy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Danilo Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinho Barros in the 60th minute of play. Cristóvão Rosado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Danilo Araújo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. If Cristóvão Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinho Barros might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Danilo Araújo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudinho Barros ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 75th minute, Gugu Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claudinho Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Araújo having to interfere. After some careless play in the Orlandia defense, Claudinho Barros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Danilo Araújo. The Orlandia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Danilo Araújo should have stopped the shot. Adrianinho Sá made an important save on a dangerous shot by Faustão de Godoy in the 83rd minute. 89 minutes into the match, Cristóvão Rosado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Danilo Araújo. Orlandia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristóvão Rosado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gameleina fans cheered their team off the field, for while Orlandia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
