Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Itanhum EC's Jorginho Valadares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Luiz Senna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pedro Luiz Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorginho Valadares in the 7th minute of play. Diamantino Maranhense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Luiz Senna having to interfere. Pedro Luiz Senna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jorginho Valadares went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 15 played minutes Muriu AD got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Tasso. After a defensive mix-up in Itanhum EC's zone, Rodriguinho Terra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Luís da Silva came out of the goal and Rodriguinho Terra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the match, Itanhum EC's goalkeeper André Luís da Silva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilberto Meirelles. In the 28th minute, Diamantino Maranhense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Vitório do Valle fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Muriu AD's protests and gave Vitório do Valle a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Muriu AD's zone, Jorginho Valadares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Luiz Senna came out of the goal and Jorginho Valadares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 35th minute Diamantino Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Luiz Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rodriguinho Terra made a kick off. André Luís da Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Meirelles in the 53rd minute of the match. Diamantino Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute, Diamantino Maranhense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Diamantino Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dino Mendes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pedro Luiz Senna came out and tried to block the shot, but Dino Mendes slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 74th minute. Gilberto Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. André Luís da Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilberto Meirelles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Nilmar Souza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Jorginho Valadares came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Itanhum EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorginho Valadares couldn't finish the play. Amauri Loyola's late challenge caught a Itanhum EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amauri Loyola helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th match minute, Muriu AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amauri Loyola to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Muriu AD getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Alberto Tasso hit a great ball. The Muriu AD fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Itanhum EC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
