Luís Fábio de Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulinho de Sena in the 40th minute of play. Danilo Alagoano scored 1-1 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Flavinho Passos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 46 minutes into the game, Mateus Magalhães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mapixy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barborema SC the free kick. Mateus Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

After a defensive mix-up in Mapixy's zone, Danilo Alagoano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavinho Passos came out of the goal and Danilo Alagoano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Flavinho Passos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Danilo Alagoano in the 64th minute. Angelo Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fábio de Mendonça having to interfere. Dorival de Brito's late challenge caught a Barborema SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dorival de Brito helped the player get up and apologised. Dorival de Brito hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Tadeu Xavier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Flavinho Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Fábio de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulinho de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
