In the 25th match minute, Alvacao SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aluísio de Toledo to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the match, Alvacao SS's goal looked a bit too open when Luizão Seco came free, but Paulo Renato Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Régis Velloso came out of the goal and Aluísio de Toledo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luizão Seco to make the kick off. Alvacao SS's Durvalino Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 53rd match minute, Alvacao SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Durvalino Silva to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute Caiabu AD were awarded a corner. Pedro Luiz da Silva went to the cornerflag to take it. Dagoberto França sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Caiabu AD booed when Alvacao SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvacao SS's Paulo Renato Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizão Seco in the 80th minute of play. Zé Paulo Vides charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zé Paulo Vides the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Caiabu AD's Dagoberto França got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 90 minutes into the match, Alvacao SS's goalkeeper Paulo Renato Ferreira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dagoberto França. For all the effort they put into the match, the Caiabu AD players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Alvacao SS.
