The supporters of Jurupema EC booed when Caiabu AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dagoberto França didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute, Caiabu AD's Dagoberto França fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Dito de Andrade was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. When Alfredão Gaspar fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jurupema EC's protests and gave Alfredão Gaspar a yellow card for diving instead. Dagoberto França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Dito de Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Toninho Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Jurupema EC's goal looked a bit too open when Dagoberto França came free, but Dito de Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joélson Paraibano in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Régis Velloso saved Caiabu AD from getting behind. Luizão Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Dito de Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ian Cordeiro charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a rather tough play, Jurupema EC's Ian Cordeiro got a free kick in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Pedro Luiz da Silva sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Dito de Andrade threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Pedro Luiz da Silva this time. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luizão Seco was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Caiabu AD's goal looked a bit too open when Toninho Albuquerque came free, but Régis Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dagoberto França recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Antônio Carlos Rosa fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. After 70 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Caiabu AD! Régis Velloso had in the 71stth minute some difficulties stopping Augusto Pernambucano's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 72nd minute, Augusto Pernambucano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Régis Velloso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Jurupema EC's Dito de Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dagoberto França in the 78th minute of play. Caiabu AD's Régis Velloso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Caiabu AD from getting a goal against them. 85 minutes into the match, Jurupema EC's goal looked a bit too open when Luizão Seco came free, but Dito de Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Caiabu AD's Dagoberto França sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dito de Andrade narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Alfredão Gaspar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jurupema EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredão Gaspar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Régis Velloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Jurupema EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Jurupema EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
