Samara SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Afonsinho de Queirós in the 12th minute. Albertino da Silveira made a great header on Samara SC's corner, it was just that Alvacao SS's Paulo Renato Ferreira managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 21st match minute, Samara SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonsinho de Queirós to maneuver through the defense. Alvacao SS's Luís Eduardo Travassos got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aluísio de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Samara SC's Décio Saraiva got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aluísio de Toledo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Renatinho Freire read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Décio Saraiva made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Aluísio de Toledo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Renatinho Freire. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Luís Eduardo Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alvacao SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Eduardo Travassos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Renatinho Freire breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roberto Zonta took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Renato Ferreira. Roberto Zonta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Renato Ferreira having to make a save. Aluísio de Toledo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Renatinho Freire made a huge save. In the 76th minute, Albertino da Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
