Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Umberto Cruz made the kick off which started today's match. 5 minutes into the game, Edson Meirelles recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Naldo Simão. Edson Meirelles showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Dedê Favoretto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Diniz having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Paiaia EC's Dedê Favoretto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rodrigo Diniz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Naldo Simão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edson Meirelles in the 19th minute of play. Dedê Favoretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Naldo Simão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edson Meirelles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Remo Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30thth minute of the game Edson Meirelles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paiaia EC's Naldo Simão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ernani Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Naldo Simão having to interfere. In the 35th match minute, Paiaia EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dé Lago to maneuver through the defense. Umberto Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Rodrigo Diniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Paiaia EC's zone, Remo Freire stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Naldo Simão came out of the goal and Remo Freire tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Edson Meirelles came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Vasques FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edson Meirelles couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edson Meirelles was the one to do the kick off. Naldo Simão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernani Mota, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After a rather tough play, Paiaia EC's Dé Lago got a free kick in the 55th minute. 56 minutes into the game, Vasques FC's Remo Freire nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Naldo Simão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Hélder Cruz charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hélder Cruz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 63 played minutes Vasques FC got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Cruz. Dedê Favoretto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodrigo Diniz having to make a save. Umberto Cruz might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodrigo Diniz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Umberto Cruz ran back to his position shaking his head. Edson Meirelles scored 3-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Naldo Simão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Remo Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Naldo Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes in the game, Umberto Cruz fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Rodrigo Diniz having to interfere. Dedê Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Rodrigo Diniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
