If Toninho Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute, Didi Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard and well directed shot from Betão Albuquerque led 34 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Raposas's Hermínio Peres became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-2. Sílvio Romero got in the 38th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Hermínio Peres handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 40 minutes into the match, Toninho Leite notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Raposas's Hermínio Peres. Hermínio Peres was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

In the 53rd minute, Piracuruca's Toninho Leite ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hermínio Peres. Hermínio Peres yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. Betão Albuquerque charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Betão Albuquerque the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Piracuruca fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! Sílvio Romero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Hermínio Peres made a huge save. With a little luck, Raposas's Hermínio Peres got control of the ball when Sílvio Romero tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 75th play minutes Toninho Leite shot 1-5, a short shot which went by Hermínio Peres and just under the crossbar into goal. If Sílvio Romero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute Angelo Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ediberto da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
