Ulisses Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ulisses Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Ulisses Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Toledo in the 31st minute of the match. After 32 minutes, Vânderson Terra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Macieira EC and the Almeriana players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luisão Duarte during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Macieira EC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Ulisses Saldanha, was totally fooled by Almeriana's Duarte Queirós, who 35 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rony Alves in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aluísio Vasconcelos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and André Toledo made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Macieira EC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho Paraíba came free, but Ulisses Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Almeriana's zone, Edinho de Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aluísio Vasconcelos came out of the goal and Edinho de Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edinho de Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aluísio Vasconcelos having to interfere. A collision led to Almeriana getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Gilvan Cavalcante hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Almeriana's Gilvan Cavalcante got a free kick in the 61st minute. Marco Esteves's late challenge caught a Macieira EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marco Esteves helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Macieira EC booed when Almeriana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Esteves didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Edinho de Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Macieira EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Edinho de Medeiros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aluísio Vasconcelos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edinho de Medeiros struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Aluísio Vasconcelos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Macieira EC. Rony Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Edinho de Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Macieira EC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho Paraíba came free, but Ulisses Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedrinho Paraíba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raimundo Favoretto's late challenge caught a Almeriana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raimundo Favoretto helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Macieira EC's Raimundo Favoretto got a free kick in the 85th minute. Almeriana's Aluísio Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edinho de Medeiros in the 90th minute of play. Macieira EC's Rony Alves got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
