A collision led to Meloso SS getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Téo Monteiro hit a great ball. In the 6th match minute, Mergulhao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilvan Paes to maneuver through the defense. Flavinho Meirelles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rômulo Santana read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. After 14 played minutes Meloso SS got a freekick which was hit by Téo Monteiro. Zeca Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastião Neto, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. When Sebastião Neto came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Meloso SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastião Neto couldn't finish the play. Cristóvão Novaes's late challenge caught a Mergulhao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristóvão Novaes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Meloso SS getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Cristóvão Novaes hit a great ball. Meloso SS's Amílton Esteves got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 32nd minute by Flavinho Meirelles got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 37th minute, Sebastião Neto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rômulo Santana made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Flavinho Meirelles sent off a good shot on target. In the 42nd minute, Hamílton Mello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amílton Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 47 minutes, Dráusio Pontes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mergulhao and the Meloso SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dráusio Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

In the 54th minute Flavinho Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rômulo Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavinho Meirelles took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rômulo Santana. Rômulo Santana dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Rômulo Santana came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Mergulhao's Flavinho Meirelles. But to his dismay, Flavinho Meirelles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Sebastião Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Meloso SS's zone, Flavinho Meirelles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rômulo Santana came out of the goal and Flavinho Meirelles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amílton Esteves scored 2-1 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zeca Maia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 70th minute of the match, Sebastião Neto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Zeca Maia saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Mergulhao's Zeca Maia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastião Neto in the 72nd minute of play. Cristóvão Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Flavinho Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Rômulo Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zeca Maia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastião Neto in the 81st minute of the match. 83 minutes into the match, Mergulhao's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastião Neto came free, but Zeca Maia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hamílton Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Santana having to interfere. Flavinho Meirelles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rômulo Santana came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Mergulhao's Hamílton Mello. But to his dismay, Hamílton Mello quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1.
