Fausto Freire was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Josué Fantini showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 46 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silvério Duarte stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 69th minute, Josué Fantini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Kléberson de Queiroz could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Ernani Paraense however easily saved by the left post. Kléberson de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernani Paraense having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Ibitioca's goal looked a bit too open when Silvério Duarte came free, but Ernani Paraense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Humberto Pinho charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Humberto Pinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Valoes EC booed when Ibitioca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valoes EC's Silvério Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ibitioca were furious when Emanuel Souto was red carded, 88 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. When Nilson Teles fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valoes EC's protests and gave Nilson Teles a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Valoes EC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Nilson Teles hit a great ball. Fausto Freire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélder de Azevedo in the 96th minute of play. 98 minutes into the match, Ibitioca's goalkeeper Ernani Paraense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kléberson de Queiroz. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
