In the 5th match minute, Parahyba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrão Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Cedro's Dino Vale tried to score from far away in the 6th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 10th minute of the match Sidney de Sena shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nelsinho de Barros showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Afonso Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Wellington Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Afonso Mendes could shoot a difficult shot in the 30th minute, which Wellington Lima however easily saved by the left post. 32 minutes into the game, Naldo Marinho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Nelsinho de Barros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 35 minutes into the game, Pedrão Guimarães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Parahyba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cedro the free kick. The supporters of Cedro booed when Parahyba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedrão Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. Naldo Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelsinho de Barros having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cedro's zone, Maurício Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nelsinho de Barros came out of the goal and Maurício Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wellington Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Britto, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Afonso Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Mendess short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Wellington Lima to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
If Maurício Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Naldo Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Nelsinho de Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Naldo Marinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 62nd minute by Naldo Marinho got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 70 minutes into the match, Naldo Marinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nelsinho de Barros. Cedro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Naldo Marinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Wellington Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Britto in the 74th minute of play. A collision led to Cedro getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Geovanni Nascimento hit a great ball. With a little luck, Cedro's Nelsinho de Barros got control of the ball when Naldo Marinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nelsinho de Barros came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Parahyba's Naldo Marinho. But to his dismay, Naldo Marinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. After a defensive mix-up in Cedro's zone, Naldo Marinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nelsinho de Barros came out of the goal and Naldo Marinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jacinto Britto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wellington Lima having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Jacinto Britto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pedrão Guimarães kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. In the 95th minute Cedro were awarded a corner. Dino Vale went to the cornerflag to take it. Cedro's Dino Vale was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Wellington Lima in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Cedro supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Parahyba's performance. The match ended with a win for Parahyba.
