Raí Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrinho Arantes having to interfere. Sydney Galvão hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 10 minutes into the game, Salvaterra EC's João Pedro Teles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedrinho Arantes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Salvaterra EC's João Pedro Teles in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Viramao's goalie prevented a goal. Waldir Simão hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After 25 played minutes, Salvaterra EC's Jardel Vasconcelos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedrinho Arantes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Salvaterra EC reached it. Pedrinho Arantes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Pedro Teles in the 31st minute of play. Luiz Paulo Breckenfeld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Santos having to interfere. Luiz Paulo Breckenfeld's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rômulo Santos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Chiquinho Alagoano's late challenge caught a Viramao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chiquinho Alagoano helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Salvaterra EC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Chiquinho Alagoano hit a great ball. After 46 minutes, Luís Gustavo Alves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salvaterra EC and the Viramao players grew even worse after the yellow card. Salvaterra EC's Rômulo Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 50th minute of the match, managed to save Salvaterra EC from getting a goal against them. After the first half Salvaterra EC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Pedro Teles to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, João Pedro Teles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nilton Vasconcelos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Rômulo Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Gustavo Alves got his second yellow card in the match during the 58th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 59 played minutes Salvaterra EC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Gustavo Alves. The supporters of Salvaterra EC booed when Viramao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Víktor Marquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Paulo Breckenfeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Pedro Teles kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Rômulo Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Paulo Breckenfeld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Paulo Breckenfeld struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Rômulo Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Viramao. Luiz Paulo Breckenfeld received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Rômulo Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Paulo Breckenfeld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Santos having to interfere. Luiz Paulo Breckenfeld recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nilton Vasconcelos scored 2-3 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rômulo Santos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Víktor Marquez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rômulo Santos having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Paulo Breckenfeld in the 99th minute of play forced Salvaterra EC's goalkeeper Rômulo Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Salvaterra EC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
