Subauma's Naldo Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Fernando Cordeiro in the 13th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enio Fonseca got free with Giovanni Gaúcho in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 20th minute Afonso Ferraz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanni Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enio Fonseca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Giovanni Gaúcho made a huge save. Giovanni Gaúcho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Ferraz in the 29th minute of the match. When Nando Madureira fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
