The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Corumbaiba EC booed when Quarteis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deivid Botelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Augusto de Amorim made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when João Augusto Paranaense sent off a good shot on target. Francisco Vander charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Francisco Vander the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Quarteis booed when Corumbaiba EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Vander didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 13 played minutes Corumbaiba EC got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Vander. Vito Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percy Souto in the 16th minute of play. Geovânio Pires charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geovânio Pires the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 22nd minute of the match Christian Prata sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vito Cardoso skillfully saved the ball. João Augusto Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Percy Souto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Corrêa in the 31st minute of play forced Corumbaiba EC's goalkeeper Vito Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Percy Souto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vito Cardoso. Corumbaiba EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Percy Souto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. João Augusto Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Carlos Augusto de Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Augusto Paranaense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Carlos Augusto de Amorim made a huge save.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Augusto Paranaense to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Serafim Corrêa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quarteis's supporters rose to their feet, but Serafim Corrêa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vito Cardoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 54th match minute, Corumbaiba EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovânio Pires to maneuver through the defense. Serafim Corrêa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th match minute, Quarteis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Prata to maneuver through the defense. Percy Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vito Cardoso having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Percy Souto couldn't finish the play. Valdir Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. After having played for 94 minutes, João Augusto Paranaense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corumbaiba EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Augusto Paranaense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
