Luís Fernando Dantas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Donatello Machado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Fernando Dantas. Cujubim's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Donatello Machado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Josué Arruda hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Saue EC's Fellipe Mazza tried to score from far away in the 18th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Sidnei Hoffmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guto Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Donatello Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fernando Dantas having to interfere. If Guto Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Guto Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donatello Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fernando Dantas having to interfere. After having played for 42 minutes, Guto Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cujubim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guto Carvalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44thth minute of the game Franklin Catarinense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Saue EC's Sidnei Hoffmann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 49th minute of the match Cujubim got a corner. Saue EC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Josué Arruda ran over to the corner to take the kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 56th minute, Mauro Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 minutes into the match, Cujubim's Franklin Catarinense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sidnei Hoffmann narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 61 minutes into the game, Donatello Machado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Luís Fernando Dantas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 65th minute, Paulinho Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Fernando Dantas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celsinho Donato's late challenge caught a Cujubim's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celsinho Donato helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Saue EC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Celsinho Donato hit a great ball. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by Saue EC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Josué Arruda was slow to take the kick. During this time Cujubim's players had a chance to rest. 75 minutes into the match, Saue EC's Donatello Machado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luís Fernando Dantas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mauro Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fernando Dantas having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cujubim's zone, Donatello Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fernando Dantas came out of the goal and Donatello Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donatello Machado in the 87th minute of play forced Cujubim's goalkeeper Luís Fernando Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mauro Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Luís Fernando Dantas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ademar Barbosa during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 97 minutes into the match, Saue EC's goalkeeper Sidnei Hoffmann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Franklin Catarinense.
