The referee ignored Tertuliano's protests and gave Virgílio Pombal a yellow card for diving instead. After 23 played minutes Tertuliano got a freekick which was hit by Virgílio Pombal. Durvalino Soeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erivaldo Messias having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Durvalino Soeiro couldn't finish the play. Durvalino Soeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Erivaldo Messias made a huge save. Albertinho Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Albertinho Guerra made a kick off. Eugênio Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albertinho Guerra in the 78th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Tertuliano players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Taquaretinga.
