If Edgard Velloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Magno Pombal in the 5th minute of play forced Mondai's goalkeeper Cauan Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juan Alvarenga came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Mondai's Ademar Xavier. But to his dismay, Ademar Xavier quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, Chiruan SS's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Roberto Silva came free, but Juan Alvarenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jânio Guimarães charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jânio Guimarães the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Chiruan SS! 27 minutes into the match, Chiruan SS's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Roberto Silva came free, but Juan Alvarenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute, Magno Pombal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juan Alvarenga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademar Xavier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chiruan SS's Juan Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademar Xavier in the 38th minute of play. After having played for 41 minutes, Aluísio Vides managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mondai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aluísio Vides was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zé Roberto Silva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ademar Xavier to make the kick off. Mondai's Cauan Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Velloso in the 53rd minute of play. Edgard Velloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Cauan Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Magno Pombal came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Chiruan SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Magno Pombal couldn't finish the play. If Edgard Velloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute of the match Jânio Guimarães sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cauan Fonseca skillfully saved the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Chiruan SS's Magno Pombal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cauan Fonseca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Ademar Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gualter Alves's late challenge caught a Chiruan SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gualter Alves helped the player get up and apologised. Gualter Alves kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match.
