The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Luisinho Vinhas fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aratama FC's protests and gave Luisinho Vinhas a yellow card for diving instead. After 5 played minutes Aratama FC got a freekick which was hit by Luisinho Vinhas. Pedrão Bueno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Carlos Eduardo Quadros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luisinho Vinhas kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Aratama FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 9th minute. Penalty! Carlos Eduardo Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juarês Valle in the 14th minute of play. The supporters of Laranginha booed when Aratama FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. César Breckenfeld didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 17 minutes, Luiz Fábio Secco made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Aratama FC's Carlos Eduardo Quadros tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Carlos Eduardo Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juarês Valle in the 20th minute of play. If Juarês Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. Vânderson Barral was a little too slow when Serginho Baptista got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 1-2. If Serginho Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, Aratama FC's Eusébio Eger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vânderson Barral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Juarês Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Laranginha's zone, Serginho Baptista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vânderson Barral came out of the goal and Serginho Baptista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 44 minutes, Pedrão Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laranginha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedrão Bueno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th minute, Juarês Valle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juarês Valle was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juarês Valle in the 53rd minute of play forced Aratama FC's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Eduardo Quadros was a little too slow when Juarês Valle got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 1-3. After a rather tough play, Aratama FC's Dário Gonçalves got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 73rd minute Serginho Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vânderson Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serginho Baptista couldn't finish the play. Carlos Eduardo Quadros was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Juarês Valle showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 80 minute of play. Vânderson Barral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio Eger in the 84th minute of the match. In the 87th minute Serginho Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vânderson Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Fábio Secco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Carlos Eduardo Quadros made a huge save. Eusébio Eger scored 2-4 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vânderson Barral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Laranginha walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
