In the 3rd minute Róbson Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrício Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 5 minutes, Benê Almeida mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cacoci EC and the Monteiro SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 6th match minute, Cacoci EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benê Almeida to maneuver through the defense. Tibúrcio Quaresma was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 6th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A collision led to Cacoci EC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Luís Paulo Quirino hit a great ball. Monteiro SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tibúrcio Quaresma in the 11th minute. A nice corner shot did that Tibúrcio Quaresma got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rubinho de Almeida quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Claudinho Rezende might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Patrício Soares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudinho Rezende ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbson Abreu in the 18th minute of play forced Monteiro SC's goalkeeper Patrício Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Róbson Abreu made a precise shot to the right of Patrício Soares. Monteiro SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The supporters of Cacoci EC booed when Monteiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelinho Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Róbson Abreu in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patrício Soares saved Monteiro SC from getting behind. Alessandro Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubinho de Almeida having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cacoci EC's zone, Alessandro Cardozo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubinho de Almeida came out of the goal and Alessandro Cardozo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cacoci EC's goalkeeper Rubinho de Almeida, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

João Augusto Paraense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Monteiro SC's Patrício Soares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Monteiro SC from getting a goal against them. After 55 minutes, Antônio Carlos Corrêa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monteiro SC and the Cacoci EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th minute, Antônio Carlos Corrêa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If João Augusto Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro Cardozo in the 59th minute of play forced Cacoci EC's goalkeeper Rubinho de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Monteiro SC's Patrício Soares got control of the ball when Claudinho Rezende tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an all-out effort, Cacoci EC's Patrício Soares threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Róbson Abreu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Alessandro Cardozo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monteiro SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alessandro Cardozo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rubinho de Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Monteiro SC's João Augusto Paraense got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 75 minutes into the game, Luís Paulo Quirino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A very good chance. 91 minutes into the match, Cacoci EC's goal looked a bit too open when João Augusto Paraense came free, but Rubinho de Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
