After 24 played minutes Arguelho SS got a freekick which was hit by Dário Sarmento. After a defensive mix-up in Arguelho SS's zone, Álvaro Jacinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Macedo came out of the goal and Álvaro Jacinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eugênio Zilles's late challenge caught a Arguelho SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eugênio Zilles helped the player get up and apologised. After 32 minutes, Carlos Eduardo Arce mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taboca and the Arguelho SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
If Luciano Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Celsinho Fantini stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luciano Quirino's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. 62 minutes into the match, Arguelho SS's goal looked a bit too open when Adalberto Seco came free, but David Macedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gilson Cordeiro fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arguelho SS's protests and gave Gilson Cordeiro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Taboca booed when Arguelho SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilson Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the game, Taboca's Álvaro Jacinto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Macedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After having played for 75 minutes, Adalberto Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taboca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adalberto Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. David Macedo came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Taboca's Álvaro Jacinto. But to his dismay, Álvaro Jacinto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Álvaro Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taboca's supporters rose to their feet, but Álvaro Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Macedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Álvaro Jacinto struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. David Macedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taboca. David Macedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Seco in the 93rd minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Arguelho SS players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Taboca.
