Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Reynaldo Simões kicked off to start the match. In the 4th match minute, Itajuru SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oséas Maciel to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Itajuru SC's Kléber Leal got control of the ball when Gualter de Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Axixa's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Simões came free, but Jânio Trancoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gualter de Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute Dênis de Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kléber Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jânio Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerson Barros in the 30th minute of play. Gualter de Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Kléber Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kléber Leal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dênis de Souza in the 35th minute of the match. Itajuru SC's Kléber Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dênis de Souza in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Kiko Maciel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Itajuru SC's goalkeeper Kléber Leal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gerson Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jânio Trancoso having to interfere. After having played for 68 minutes, Gerson Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itajuru SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerson Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 74th minute, Dênis de Souza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kléber Leal was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 79 minutes into the match, Axixa's Dênis de Souza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kléber Leal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dênis de Souza might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kléber Leal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dênis de Souza ran back to his position shaking his head. Through an outstanding action, after 89 minutes, Jânio Trancoso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Itajuru SC's Kléber Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dênis de Souza in the 93rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerson Barros got free with Jânio Trancoso in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 96th minute of the match, Gerson Barros got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jânio Trancoso was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Itajuru SC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
