After 22 played minutes, Canhoe's José Maria Alagoano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bruninho Donato came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Canhoe reached it. Mathias Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Clóvis Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Maia in the 37th minute of play forced Craiba AD's goalkeeper Bruninho Donato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clóvis Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edinho de Godoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Mathias Prado struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Clóvis Netto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Craiba AD. Hílton Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruninho Donato having to interfere. Bruninho Donato made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when João Carlos Velasco sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Canhoe's zone, Mathias Prado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clóvis Netto came out of the goal and Mathias Prado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Serafim Ceresso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Craiba AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Serafim Ceresso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clóvis Netto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 92nd minute, João Carlos Velasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edinho de Godoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Clóvis Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Canhoe had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
