In the 10th minute Edgar Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vito Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute of the match Cristóvão Costa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vito Figueiredo skillfully saved the ball. Paulo Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto de Godoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. André Luís Lago took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Brito. Paulo Brito dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 61st minute, Guigos AD got a penalty, and Cristóvão Costa placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. If Edgar Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. In the 68th minute of the match Cristóvão Costa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vito Figueiredo skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Guigos AD booed when Quatiguaua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kauan Peres didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th match minute, Guigos AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Almir do Valle to maneuver through the defense. Quatiguaua's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Celso Baiano in the 97th minute. The corner led Quatiguaua's Celso Baiano to fire away a dangerous shot which Paulo Brito despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A hard and well directed shot from Celso Baiano led 97 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Guigos AD's Paulo Brito became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 2-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Guigos AD eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
