Saraiva's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PHOBUS FUTEBOL CLUBE the free kick. Jean Chaves hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute, Zé Paulo Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Jailson Nogueira in the 17th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Saraiva's Jean Chaves. Sandro Baiano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rony Fantini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, PHOBUS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Ronaldinho Ronaldo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antônio Carlos Cabral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 22nd minute, Ronaldinho Ronaldo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Danilo Paes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hélio Mangueira's late challenge caught a Saraiva's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hélio Mangueira helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, PHOBUS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Hélio Mangueira got a free kick in the 24th minute. When Danilo Paes fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saraiva's protests and gave Danilo Paes a yellow card for diving instead. Danilo Paes kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Ronaldinho Ronaldo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34thth minute of the game Vágner Tande who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Saraiva's Antônio Carlos Cabral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Antônio Carlos Cabral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kasper Rosendal in the 39th minute of the match. With a little luck, PHOBUS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Rony Fantini got control of the ball when Zé Paulo Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zé Paulo Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Rony Fantini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th match minute, PHOBUS FUTEBOL CLUBE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélio Mangueira to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Zé Paulo Montenegro made the kick off in the second half. When PHOBUS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Kasper Rosendal in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Saraiva's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cabral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 62 minutes into the game, Saraiva's Zé Paulo Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The referee gave Hélio Mangueira a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 67th minute of the match Zé Paulo Montenegro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rony Fantini showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Ronaldinho Ronaldo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Antônio Carlos Cabral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Kasper Rosendal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Antônio Carlos Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho Ronaldo in the 76th minute of play. Kasper Rosendal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Carlos Cabral having to interfere. Antônio Carlos Cabral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kasper Rosendal, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. If Ronaldinho Ronaldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute Ronaldinho Ronaldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Carlos Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronaldinho Ronaldo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
