Bacuriteua's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Tião Batista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 7 minutes into the game, Júlio Souza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Areias's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bacuriteua the free kick. A collision led to Areias getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Júlio Souza hit a great ball. With his leg Erik de Barros managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when Bacuriteua's Mazinho Loyola fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Refik Halit Iğdırlı blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erik de Barros having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mazinho Loyola in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erik de Barros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 12 minutes into the game, Bacuriteua's Refik Halit Iğdırlı nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Erik de Barros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Mazinho Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Erik de Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gustavo Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Areias's Erik de Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Gomes in the 22nd minute of play. Bacuriteua's Zornin Aranzabe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonsinho Simões in the 27th minute of play. The Bacuriteua fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when Bacuriteua's Mazinho Loyola looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Areias's zone, Tião Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erik de Barros came out of the goal and Tião Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Erik de Barros made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Mazinho Loyola sent off a good shot on target. Bacuriteua's Refik Halit Iğdırlı got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Afonsinho Simões blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zornin Aranzabe having to make a save. Areias were furious when Luís Guilherme Luz was red carded, 42 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After a rather tough play, Areias's Luís Guilherme Luz got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Luan Peres had a good opportunity to score a goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went on the wrong side of the left post. 45 minutes into the match, Areias's goal looked a bit too open when Mazinho Loyola came free, but Erik de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The audience was convinced that Mazinho Loyola's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erik de Barros was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. Erik de Barros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mazinho Loyola went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. 62 minutes into the match, Mazinho Loyola had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Erik de Barros. Areias's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mazinho Loyola was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. A collision led to Bacuriteua getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Refik Halit Iğdırlı hit a great ball. 74 minutes into the match, Areias's goal looked a bit too open when Mazinho Loyola came free, but Erik de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 77 minutes, Mazinho Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bacuriteua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mazinho Loyola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Erik de Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mazinho Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 87th minute, Refik Halit Iğdırlı got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bacuriteua's Mazinho Loyola got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Luan Peres came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Bacuriteua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luan Peres couldn't finish the play. Mazinho Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Erik de Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Bacuriteua players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
