Rui Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Gomes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jardel do Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Ciro Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Souza having to interfere. After some careless play in the Piquizeiro defense, Ciro Gomes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rui Souza. The Piquizeiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rui Souza should have stopped the shot. After 29 minutes, Clóvis Mumbach mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piquizeiro and the Secundo AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. Clóvis Mumbach hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Ciro Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Patrick Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Piquizeiro's Clóvis Mumbach got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th minute, Jardel do Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patrick Massa struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Rui Souza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Secundo AD. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patrick Massa was the one to do the kick off. Rui Souza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ciro Gomes in the 55th minute. Ciro Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Rui Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd match minute, Secundo AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulysses Mandrak to maneuver through the defense. Clóvis Mumbach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ciro Gomes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Rui Souza when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ricardo Viana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reginaldo Mesquita's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Secundo AD's zone, Clóvis Mumbach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Viana came out of the goal and Clóvis Mumbach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Piquizeiro's Rui Souza got control of the ball when Ciro Gomes tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 94 played minutes Piquizeiro got a freekick which was hit by Jardel do Valle. 95 minutes into the match, Secundo AD's Rafa Xavier broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Secundo AD's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
