Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Maltide's Dorival Chaves started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Pedro Paulo Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 9 minutes, Américo Dante mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maltide and the Eme SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Américo Dante kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Allan Furlan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Adolfo Guimarães. Maltide's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Adolfo Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto Moreno in the 16th minute of the match. Eme SC's Mário Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorival Chaves in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelinho Alvarenga in the 19th minute of play forced Maltide's goalkeeper Adolfo Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Pedro Paulo Vasconcelos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Adolfo Guimarães was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Adolfo Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelinho Alvarenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 31st minute, Marcelinho Alvarenga made a precise shot to the right of Adolfo Guimarães. Maltide's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelinho Alvarenga in the 34th minute of play forced Maltide's goalkeeper Adolfo Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelinho Alvarenga scored 2-3 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adolfo Guimarães, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Adolfo Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelinho Alvarenga in the 40th minute of play. Marcelinho Alvarenga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oscar Saraiva charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oscar Saraiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Maltide getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Oscar Saraiva hit a great ball. After the first half Eme SC were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Marcelinho Alvarenga made the kick off in the second half. Maltide's Adolfo Guimarães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Maltide from getting a goal against them. In the 61st minute, Pedro Paulo Vasconcelos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Eme SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. In the 67th match minute, Maltide was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramón da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Sílvio Luís Pirani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Paulo Vasconcelos got free with Adolfo Guimarães in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pedro Paulo Vasconcelos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Adolfo Guimarães skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Ramón da Cunha fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maltide's protests and gave Ramón da Cunha a yellow card for diving instead. After 78 played minutes Maltide got a freekick which was hit by Ramón da Cunha. Ramón da Cunha hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After having played for 81 minutes, Pedro Paulo Vasconcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eme SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Paulo Vasconcelos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adolfo Guimarães made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Pedro Paulo Vasconcelos sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelinho Alvarenga in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adolfo Guimarães saved Maltide from getting behind. Mário Veiga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oscar Saraiva's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. The Eme SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Eme SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
